Primark PS Highlighter | Review and Swatches

Today I am going to talk about yet another product that I won as a part of Andrea’s amazing giveaway. I feel like a lucky girl indeed! This product is the Primark PS Highlighter Stick, a soft pink cream-based highlighter with golden shimmer.

I enjoy products that come in a stick because they are very easy to carry around. This particular highlighter is not only perfect for on the go application but it also provides a lovely golden sheen to the cheeks that is ideal for daily wear. The pink undertones do not really show up on my skin but the even wash of golden gives a wonderful glow.

Unfortunately, the summer heat has made the product a little sticky, but once blended in it works just fine. This product is not available in India but for those who have a Primark in the vicinity, this highlighter stick priced at £1.50 is a great choice for day to day usage.

Batiste Clean and Classic Original Dry Shampoo | Review

I recently won the Fresh Hair Anywhere giveaway hosted by Batiste India and received the Batiste Clean and Classic Original Dry Shampoo as the prize. The timing of winning this product was perfect because these days my hair is getting sweaty just a few hours after washing, thanks to the Indian summer.

This dry shampoo is as good as the other ones that I have tried from Batiste and has a fresh, borderline floral scent. You just need to spray some product on your greasy roots from a distance and massage it in for hair that can pass off as freshly washed. I have used it on really greasy and dirty hair and it did not disappoint at all. Frequent washing and blow-drying can make the hair dry and brittle but this dry shampoo makes it bouncy and slightly shinier too!

Bear in mind that the product is white in color, so brush it really well to get rid of the white cast. If you use the right amount, this should not take much effort. Overall I am quite pleased with this product and will definitely be using it throughout the summer. Priced at INR 649 for a 200ml can, it does not even burn a hole in the pocket, which is always a good thing. Do give this product a shot if you want to break out of the vicious cycle of washing your hair every single day!

Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick In Rust Lust | Review and Swatches

I lifted my self-imposed shopping ban for a day to purchase the Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick in the shade Rust Lust. I have been obsessed with terracotta reds for some time now and the amazing swatches and reviews of other bloggers were so tempting that I had to buy this lipstick. Trust me, every penny I spent on this awesome product was completely worth it!

Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick Rust Lust

This product is the true definition of a liquid lipstick. The formula dries completely matte on the lips and does not smudge or budge at all! You have only a few seconds to work with this product before it clings to your lips in a stubborn manner. Also, the pigmentation is superb and you only need a tiny drop to provide opaque color to your lips.

Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick Rust Lust

Red liquid lipsticks are the most tricky to apply, but the teeny tiny wand picks up the perfect amount of product and allows precise application. The color is a brick red with a slight tinge of orange. It looks like a true red in white light though. It is the perfect shade of red for the summer months.

Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick Rust Lust Swatch Review

Here is a swatch of the product on my hand after I vigorously tried to rub it off just a few seconds after application. It does not budge at all! On my lips, it stays intact all day long and does not transfer even slightly. Always remember to scrub and hydrate your lips before using this lip color because it clings to every crease. It felt a bit uncomfortable while it was drying but once fully dry I found it surprisingly comfortable to wear. It is completely waterproof and I rely on coconut oil to remove it easily.

Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick Rust Lust Swatch Review

This is a revolutionary lip product in my opinion. How Sugar is able to provide such impeccable quality at a super affordable price of INR 499 is a mystery to me! I am dying to purchase all the colors from this range. If only I could justify spending any more money on lip products!

Buy this awesome liquid lipstick here. Sugar Cosmetics are also offering some great deals on their website so do have a look at their online store.

Wet n Wild Mega Slicks Lip Gloss in Red Sensation | Review

I stumbled upon the Wet n Wild Mega Slicks Lip Gloss in the shade Red Sensation while randomly browsing the internet, and purchased it on a whim. When I received the product, I was quite surprised by the color and finish. It does not look metallic in the pictures but in reality, the swatch was a deep metallic red!

Perhaps the metallic effect arises due to the extreme luster of this product. When you swatch it on your hand, the color is super opaque and almost has a foiled look to it. On applying on the lips the pigment sheers out but still looks slightly metallic.

This lip gloss is a bit sticky and thick and smells like sweets. It has some white and red glitter particles that tend to sink into the creases of the lips after a few hours of wear. The color fades gradually and almost completely disappears within 2-3 hours, which is expected from a hydrating lip gloss.

I would recommend wearing this gloss over a red lipstick to create an opaque metallic finish. It can also be used as a lip topper for the center of the lips. I personally don’t prefer wearing the gloss on its own because when I want a red lip I want it to be really bold. However, if you choose to wear it on its own, make sure to carry it in your handbag to top it up every few hours. Priced at $1.99, this lip gloss is quite affordable and imparts an interesting finish to the lips!

Well, the real reason is that I have been struck hard by the Monday blues and need some time to recuperate. However, I have posted a recipe for this instant mango pickle on my Niume blog, so you can have a look at that post.

Kat Von D Shade+Light Eye Contour Quad in Rust | Review + Swatches

If you follow me on Instagram then you might know that I recently won a giveaway hosted by the lovely Andrea from Beauty With Andrea. One of the products that I won was the Kat Von D Shade+Light Eye Contour Quad in the shade Rust. I was super happy and grateful to win this product because it is a bit difficult to find in India. Over the past few days, I have been trying out different looks with this palette and here is my review.

I am head over heels in love with this palette, to say the least. Everything about it is super impressive, be it the sturdy packaging with the impressive embossed design or the buttery texture of the shadows. This quad comprises of a base color, a highlight shade, a definer shade, and a contour shade which is a lovely rusty color.

All the four shades are super soft powders that have excellent color payoff and blend beautifully on the skin. I do not experience any fallout whatsoever and the color stays in place for up to 8 hours. I particularly love to apply the rust color all over the lids for a summery look. I am dying to get my hands on a lipstick of the same shade, so if you have any suggestions, do let me know.

Here is a super simple look that I created using all the 4 colors from the quad. You can blend these with a brush or even with your fingers. This eyeshadow quad is definitely my favorite among all the eyeshadows that I own. I am really thankful to Andrea for arranging such an amazing giveaway!

I hope that this review was helpful. You can buy this super versatile palette for $22 from here.
